The Greek Branch is based in Athens, Greece and the main activity of the company is carried out in the R&D and production, which is located in Ioannina, Greece. The company focuses its activities on the research, development, production, distribution, sales and marketing of systems and services, which include but are not limited to medical devices, sensors and software for the monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

Estonian Movement Disorders Society
Estonian Movement Disorders Society/ EstModis is a non-profit organisation (www.estmodis.ee ). Its objective is to develop of management of the movement disorders from scientific, educational and clinical points of view. Est Modis distributes up-to-date evidence-based knowledge about movement disorders to Estonian neurologists and representatives of other medical specialities; organizes conferences and to publish material about movement disorders; promotes scientific research in the field of movement disorders; participates in improving the management of health care and medical support in the fields related to movement disorders.

Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) is an institution organised as a private foundation with locations in Salzburg and Nuremberg. Teaching, research and patient care – these are the three pillars on which the university was founded in 2002, and which continue to have the highest priority. With 22 university institutes, three research centres and six research programs it provides a first-class educational offer and excellent research at the Salzburg location. The education offer of Paracelsus University in Salzburg comprises the study of human medicine, the study in pharmacy and nursing science as well as postgraduate doctorate degree study programs in medical science, molecular medicine and nursing & allied health sciences, as well as a number of university and further education programs. The work in PD_Pal will be undertaken by the Palliative Care Research Hub lead by Univ.-Prof. Stefan Lorenzl, PhD, Dipl. Pall. med. (Univ. Cardiff).

University of Marburg
The Movement Disorders Section at the Department of Neurology of the Philipps University in Marburg, Germany, has a history of more than 20 years of excellence in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) research. The strength of this center is based on the bench to bedside and backwards research and its highly interdisciplinary approaches - combined with 15 years long and internationally proven high level expertise in designing, implementing, conducting and analyzing large randomized controlled multicenter clinical trials (German Parkinson Study Group). This combination of basic, translational and clinical science with a powerful structure for clinical trials in PD in one single center is quite unique in Europe and allows to study PD at all its facets from etiology to disease modification and late stage cutting edge therapy.

University College London
UCL is London's leading multidisciplinary university which has a reputation for world-leading neurodegeneration research. The Department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology is an internationally recognised centre for clinical neuroscience and translational research. Its research focus combines basic and clinical research for patient benefit, emphasising working synergistically across multiple neurodegenerative diseases. Parkinson’s disease has been one of its main areas of research, and researchers from UCL have been amongst the most highly cited PD researchers worldwide.

University of Ioannina
The University of Ioannina (www.uoi.gr/en) was founded in 1964 in Ioannina, Epirus, in the North-western part of Greece. Today the University has 17 departments with over 500 faculty members, 13,500 undergraduate students and more than 3,000 graduate students (MSc and PhD). The University of Ioannina has established a quality management system that is in conformance with the International Management System Standard ISO 9001:2000, as well as the Greek Management Efficiency Standard, with a scope of “Project Management of Research and Development of Technological and Other Related Programs and Activities”. The clinical work will be undertaken by the Department of Neurology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University. The Neurology clinic is a 26-bed inpatient facility, which is served by the presence of 8 specialized neurologists. The clinic operates a neurophysiology unit that includes a laboratory of electroencephalography, electromyography and evoked dynamics. The outpatient department runs several outpatient clinics, including neurodegenerative diseases, diseases associated with polyneuropathy-myopathies, chronic pain and Parkinson’s. The clinic has extensive experience from conducting several clinical trials funded by public and private organizations. The technical work in the PD_Pal project will be undertaken by the Unit of Medical Technology & Intelligent Information Systems (MedLab). MedLab is a highly innovative and self-contained research unit strongly activated in the fields of Biomedical Engineering and development of Intelligent Information systems. It has an internationally acknowledged excellence in conducting high quality scientific research and developing innovative Information Technology (IT) applications, products and services.

Mediolanum Cardio Research
Mediolanum Cardio Research (MCR) Srl is an independent Contract Research Organisation (CRO) established in Milano (Italy). MCR was founded in 2002 with the aim of supporting no-profit research projects developed by a group of interventional cardiologists. Since then MCR have gained extensive experience as Clinical Research Organization providing services for regulatory authorizations, project management, monitoring, data management and statistics for sponsored and no-profit clinical trials both pharmacological as well as with Medical Devices. MCR is well structured and fully staffed to manage projects in full compliance with GCP and applicable regulations. MCR can support Sponsors and researches in all stages: protocol preparation, logistic organization, regulatory processes, clinical monitoring, data cleaning and analysis, and data reporting. MCR is involved in monitoring activities in different clinical studies, in mono-center and multi-center context. MCR is based in Italy but can manage European trials thanks to established connections and partnerships with European free-lance CRAs and local CROs. management mechanisms and statistical analysis (Task 4.2) with its expert staff.

Radboud University Medical Center
The Center of Expertise for Parkinson and Movement Disorders is part of the department of Neurology, Radboud university medical center (Radboudumc). The Center receives nation-wide referrals and evaluates ~500 new Parkinson patients each year. The Center is recognised from 2005 onwards as a centre of excellence for Parkinson’s disease. ParkinsonNet, which is part of the Center of Expertise, is an innovative healthcare concept that now consists of 70 professional networks, with 3,200 specially trained health professionals for Parkinson’s disease patients, covering all of The Netherlands (www.parkinsonnet.nl).

Dating back to 1222, the University of Padova (UNIPD) is one of the leading Universities in Italy and has a long tradition of scientific excellence. It is among the earliest universities of the world and the second oldest in Italy. UNIPD offers its students 37 doctoral degree courses and 44 research and service centres across the spectrum of sciences, medicine, social sciences and humanities. The Department of Neuroscience was created in January 2012 from the confluence of the Department of Neuroscience and the Department of Medical-surgical specialties. It has operationally begun to reach the objectives on whose foundations had been formed and has the mission to facilitate diagnosis, treatment, reconstruction and rehabilitation of diseases of the nervous system and the cephalic end, falling in neurology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, psychobiological, reconstructive, maxillofacial, audiology and rehabilitation. This articulation, based also on the contiguity of scientific-disciplinary areas, guarantees the recognition of groups and skills and allows comparability with homologous structures recognized internationally. The increasing integration between the components of the Department is also reflected in the welfare area with the objective to maximize the goal to continuously improve the level of science education and excellence in health care. The Department of Neuroscience coordinates the PD_Pal activities and has been certified by the international audit from the Italian Ministry of Education among the 100 Italian University Departments of Excellence and first in the field of Neuroscience.
